Como mencionamos en la primera entrega de este blog, existen palabras como fun, help, silence, water o sugar, que sus formas singular y plural son iguales, por ello es incorrecto agregarles una “s” al final. Continuando con la lista, aquí presentamos la segunda parte de palabras en inglés que no tienen plural.
Knowledge: Familiarity with an area of study, as by study or experience.
Livestock: Useful animals kept or raised on a farm or ranch.
Luck: The force that seems to operate for good or ill in a person's life.
Marketing: The act or practice of advertising and selling a product.
Mud: Wet, soft dirt.
Music: Sounds arranged to have melody, rhythm, or harmony.
News: A report on recent or new events in a newspaper or magazine, or on radio or television.
Pajamas: Clothing worn for sleeping.
Pants: A piece of clothing that covers the lower part of the body from the waist to the feet.
Scenery: The general appearance of a place.
Sheep: Woolly mammals typically kept as livestock.
Spelling: A group of letters representing a word.
Weather: the state of the atmosphere with respect to wind, temperature, moisture, etc.
Algunas cualidades que también siguen estas reglas son wisdom, courage y bravery, así que ten cuidado al tratar de usarlas en plural, descubrirás que no es posible. Hay muchas otras palabras que pertenecen a esta lista, solo recuerda que en esencia, los sustantivos en conjunto NO tienen una forma plural.
